New Delhi : At the BRICS Summit, Prime Minister Narendra Modi emphasized the need for major changes in the global order. Presenting a 10-point plan, he said, BRICS is a platform for cooperation, not conflict. He also called for greater participation of the Global South, reform of the UNSC and strengthening security cooperation among member countries.Prime Minister Modi further said that this summit hosted by India should send a clear message to the world. He said that if our future is shared, then all countries should have the right to shape that future. Prime Minister Modi urged BRICS countries not to remain limited to merely raising their voices, but to increase their influence over global decisions. He said that promoting partnership instead of privilege should be the primary commitment of BRICS today. Prime Minister Modi described this as an essential direction for the future of the organization.The 2026 BRICS Summit emphasized increasing the participation of the Global South in global decision-making. He said that today the Global South is at the forefront of resolving global crises, but remains behind in decision-making. This situation needs to change. We need to transform the “pyramid of privilege” into a “platform of partnership”, where every country has a voice and the participation of all is ensured. Prime Minister Modi suggested that BRICS countries jointly prepare 10 proposals for reforms in global governance. He said that these proposals should be developed into a comprehensive BRICS reform roadmap by the next BRICS Summit.
