Bhubaneswar: After protests by the Biju Yuva Janata Dal and Chhatra Janata Dal, the Biju Janata Dal will now take to the streets. At a press conference held at Shankha Bhavan today, the party announced that a protest will be held on the 28th. Senior party leaders and vice-presidents Devi Prasad Mishra, Pratap Jena, Arun Sahu, Sudam Marandi and Pritiranjan Gharai, among others, made the announcement.
The leaders said that the protest will be held on the 28th demanding the withdrawal of the MMDR Act implemented by the central government. The protest will be held at Lower PMG in Bhubaneswar. It was stated at the press conference that Leader of the Opposition and former Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik will join the protest. The party said that protests will also be held across the state against this black law of the central government.
