Bhubaneswar : Omfed ice cream and water will hit the market very soon. This information was given by Fisheries and Animal Resources Development Minister Gokulananda Mallik. Minister Mr. Mallik said that Omfed will launch bottled water in the market and will also make ice cream available in various flavours. Discussions are underway with the board regarding Omfed bringing new products to the market. This will be implemented after receiving the board's approval. On the other hand, while allegations of adulteration in milk, chhena and paneer are being reported in the state, the minister has clarified the quality of Omfed milk. Special emphasis is being given to the quality of Omfed milk. According to the minister's information, Omfed milk undergoes a three-level inspection. This includes checking fat (thickness) as well as other quality tests. There is no adulteration in Omfed milk. He has clarified that if any kind of adulteration is detected in the future, action will be taken against the person concerned. Similarly, the price of milk purchased by Omfed from dairy farmers has been increased by 2 rupees. He said that this will enable milk-producing farmers to benefit more and become self-reliant.
Odisha Dairy Farmers' Federation president Ravi Behera said that in states like Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan and Karnataka, students are being given milk powder and paneer in mid-day meals. Similarly, this should also be provided to school students in the state as part of mid-day meals. Likewise, Omfed milk, paneer and chhena should be provided on various trains of the East Coast Railway and in all government hospitals. He said that this would enable dairy farmers to earn more.
