Sundargarh : A young man died tragically after being run over by a coal-laden trailer at Podajalanga Square under Hemgir police station in Sundargarh district on Saturday night. The deceased has been identified as Birendra Yadav (40), who is reportedly a driver. At night, while he was crossing the road near Amlan Dhaba at the square, a speeding trailer came and hit him before running over him. He died on the spot and his body was dismembered. Tension prevailed there following the accident. The drivers present staged a road blockade demanding compensation. As a result, coal transportation and the movement of other vehicles on the MCL-Chhattisgarh road have remained halted. On receiving the information, Hemgir police reached the spot and are reportedly trying to pacify the agitated people.
