New Delhi : Russian President Vladimir Putin has congratulated Prime Minister Narendra Modi on his 76th birthday. He sent a congratulatory message. The Russian Embassy in India shared Putin's letter. In it, Putin said, “People not only in our country but all over the world respect you greatly. Your role has been important in taking India-Russia relations to new heights.”
Recalling his visit to India last week, Putin wrote, “I sincerely thank you for the love and respect that my delegation and I received in New Delhi. Our discussions were direct, concrete and very useful. It is always a pleasure to speak with you and this has once again demonstrated your insight and foresight.”
Putin further said that the two countries will continue to work together on all important issues. The recently held BRICS summit in New Delhi has further strengthened the friendship between India and Russia. Despite pressure from Western countries, the two countries have made it clear that they maintain good relations. The agreements reached during the summit regarding oil and gas supplies, trade in their own currencies and rubles instead of dollars, and new trade routes show that no external pressure will affect the partnership between the two countries.
