Khordha,(utkal news7),11/11 : A preparatory meeting for Raja Mahotsav was held at the district collector's office in Khurda today. The meeting was chaired by District Collector Sangram Keshari Mohapatra. Jyotirindra Nath Mitra, editor of 'Dishana' and former MLA of Khurda, welcomed everyone to the meeting. The meeting was held at 10 am in the district collector's conference hall.According to the agenda, the district culture officer informed various departmental officials about their responsibilities. The Public Health Department (PHD) and the municipality were requested to provide drinking water facilities. Similarly, the municipality was consulted regarding lighting and sanitation arrangements. The responsibility for electricity supply was entrusted to TPCODL, and the fire officer was entrusted with fire safety measures."The responsibility for the color and beautification of the Barunei temple, as well as the maintenance of the Barunei Bangla for guests, was entrusted to the Executive Engineer of the Public Works Department. Additionally, the District Chief Medical Officer, Khurda, was entrusted with the responsibility of providing first aid facilities.
To make this festival successful, District Cultural Officer Choudhury Arabinda Dash was requested to deploy a cultural team every day. Various competitions such as Raja Doli, Raja Paan, Raja Pitha, Jhoti dance, and Paika Akhada were finalized. Discussions were held regarding the establishment of stalls by various departments. OTDC was also requested to set up a special stall for the festival. Additional Superintendent of Police Surendra Nath Murmu, CDMO Rajalaxmi Pattanayak, District Information Officer Jyoshlamayi Acharya, and officials from various departments, institutions, and universities attended the meeting.
