Tangi, 6/12,(Utkal News7): There is no dearth of birds in Chilika. Bird poachers are breaking the security system by poisoning the turtle nadir. The officials of Tangi Wildlife Division seized two dead birds from the bank of Chilika river at Balinasi village under Tangi Wildlife Flood Range in Khordha district in the wee hours today. It is to be noted that the staff of the wildlife floodplain department while patrolling on the bank of Chilika in Balinasi village under Tangi Wildlife Floodplain Range raided on the information of reliable sources and seized 2 dead birds and arrested one person. The arrested person has been identified as Arjun Ghadei (75), a resident of Balinasi village under Tangi police station. A dead Nardan pintail and a dead water hyena were recovered from him, along with a stick and poison. The dead birds have been sent for panchnama and the arrested person has been forwarded to court, Tangi Wildlife Division officials told the media.
