Epic Group inaugurates ‘Trimetro Manufacturing Campus’ in Odisha.

Tangi, 29/4 (Utkal Bureau): Setting a new global benchmark in sustainable and inclusive industrial manufacturing, Epic Group—one of the world’s leading vertically integrated apparel manufacturers—today inaugurated its state-of-the-art ‘Trimetro Manufacturing Campus’ at Kalibeti Mouza under Jankia police limits in Khordha district. Built with an investment of 100 million US dollars, the project is expected to mark a new milestone in sustainable industrial development in India. The campus was formally inaugurated by Industries Minister Sampad Chandra Swain, Khordha MLA Prashant Jagdev, and Epic Group founder and chairman Ranjan Mahtani. Senior leadership of Epic Group, key industry stakeholders, and government officials were also present on the occasion.

Constructed with an investment of 100 million US dollars, the Trimetro Campus is India’s first fully ‘net-zero carbon’ and ‘net-zero water’ apparel manufacturing facility. Spread across 40 acres, the campus represents a powerful integration of advanced manufacturing, environmental responsibility, and inclusive economic growth.

Envisioned as one of India’s most future-ready apparel manufacturing hubs, the campus will produce 20 million garments annually for the global market. The project was partly supported by a 100 million dollar loan assistance package provided by the International Finance Corporation (IFC) in 2024, which included a sustainability-linked loan and a green loan with sustainability-linked features. IFC’s financial support will help Epic Group expand operations across the region, including in Bangladesh, enabling annual production of 20 million garments for leading global brands while creating 10,000 new jobs in the region, with women comprising 80% of the workforce, the chairman said.
