Puri / Kakatpur : Milli Priya Behera, the sister-in-law who had been living for the past 15 years at the house of her brother-in-law Alekh Kumar Mallik, owner of Mallik Convention and Lodge located at Shankareswar on the Kakatpur-Konark main road under Kakatpur police station limits, was brutally murdered late last night. While various discussions are being heard regarding this murder incident, the deceased Milli’s mother Lata Behera has filed a complaint at Kakatpur police station alleging the involvement of her elder daughter’s nephew Smrutiranjan Swain alias Rahul in this heinous murder. The accused nephew Smrutiranjan had been staying for the past few years at his maternal uncle Alekh Mallik’s house and was looking after the convention and lodge.Heinous murder incident A few days ago, seeing that the nephew’s behavior was not proper, uncle Alekh had thrown nephew Smrutiranjan out of the house. Enraged by this, nephew Smrutiranjan allegedly entered the house late last night through the rooftop in an intoxicated state and committed the act using a sharp weapon. After receiving information about this gruesome murder, Kakatpur police station IIC Basant Kumar Sahu, Nimapada SDPO Janardan Padhi and others reached the spot and started an investigation. Police have managed to apprehend Smrutiranjan, who is being called the main accused in the murder case, in an intoxicated condition. A forensic team from Puri has arrived and begun efforts to collect clues related to the murder.
