Bhubaneswar : A blow to the pockets of passengers traveling by bus. Following the increase in petrol and diesel prices, domestic bus fares have also gone up. Ordinary bus fares have increased by 2 paise per kilometer. Earlier, the fare was 88 paise per kilometer, but now it has reached 90 paise. Similarly, express bus fares, which were 92 paise per kilometer, have now become 94 paise. Deluxe bus fares, which were ₹1.27, have increased by 4 paise to ₹1.31. AC deluxe bus fares, which were ₹1.55, have increased by 4 paise to ₹1.59. Super deluxe premium fares, which were ₹2.41, have increased by 6 paise to ₹2.47, informed State Private Bus Owners’ Association General Secretary Devendra Sahu. He also informed that this bus fare hike has been implemented through an Automatic Mechanism. Following the fare increase, ticket prices for every bus have also gone up.
