Tangi, 31/8, (Utkal Bureau) The Prime Minister has stated in the Mann Ki Baat programme that it is necessary for the youth to stay away from intoxicants in order to build a developed nation across India. To take this initiative to everyone, as per the instructions of Nayagarh Superintendent of Police Shubhendu Patra, Chandpur Police Station Inspector Abhaya Kumar Behera organised a Drug-Free India awareness meeting at Chandpur A G Mission School and Panchayat High School, Champagarh, under the jurisdiction of the police station. Both programmes were held under the coordination of Chandpur Senior Citizens' Forum Secretary Rabindra Kumar Nayak, while Chandpur Police Station Inspector Abhaya Kumar Behera, retired president of the Consumer Protection Court Narayan Mahapatra, and Sub-Inspector Sangeeta Besra advised people to stay away from intoxicants. A G Mission School Principal M. Martin and Champagarh High School Headmaster Lakshmidhar Gauda conducted the meetings. The coordinator advised the students to abstain from intoxicants through songs and administered an oath to the students, while the teachers of both schools and the Chandpur Police Station police force extended their cooperation.
