Amaravati : Good news has come for Andhra Pradesh as Amaravati has been declared the permanent capital of the state. Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu and Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan also announced this on their social media X handles. Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu shared a statement on X, writing, “Amaravati is the capital of Andhra Pradesh.” Notably, during the budget session of Parliament, the Andhra Pradesh Reorganisation (Amendment) Bill, 2026, was passed in both houses with a majority.Expressing gratitude to the President, Chandrababu Naidu wrote on X, “On behalf of the people of Andhra Pradesh, I sincerely thank President Droupadi Murmu for approving the Andhra Pradesh Reorganisation (Amendment) Act, 2026. This fulfills our long-standing dream of having a capital. I also express my gratitude to the Central Government and Prime Minister Narendra Modi for honoring their commitment and guiding our state.”The long-cherished dream has been fulfilled. This step by the TDP-NDA government under the leadership of Chief Minister Naidu is being seen as a major move for the future of Amaravati. When Andhra Pradesh was bifurcated, Chandrababu Naidu had planned to make it the new administrative and political center of the state. Now it is clear that the state will have only one capital, and that will be Amaravati. This decision is being seen as a major step toward administrative clarity and development.
